General Motor Company is an American multinational automotive company headquartered in Detroit, Michigan. One of the best automaker firms in the world. Standard Motors renowned as GMC has order several brands over the years. Every thing started with William " Billy” Durant who was the founder of General Motor on September 16, 1908 (History and Heritage) Durant was a producer of horse-drawn vehicles in Flint, Michigan but found great chances in the car industry. Since demand grew over the years and so did GENERAL MOTORS. The automobile company bought Chevy, Vauxhall and Opel. GENERAL MOTORS opened a large number of plants inside and outside america and they planned to create " a car for each and every purse and purpose” (History and Heritage) World Battle I and II were hard times for each and every company although GM discovered opportunities upon consumers who were eager to purchase goods that have been not possible during war. The key to the accomplishment of GMC was the ground breaking designs that made consumers felt in love just like Chevrolet Corvette and BelAir, Cadillac El Dorado. At the same time, the company supplied the Allies during conflict with vans, tanks and airplanes. GENERAL MOTORS made a lot of money and more significantly learn from this kind of experience. Yet , everything was not perfect as businesses need to continue to keep innovating and adjusting to keep leading a market. Foreign automakers companies from Japan and Germany built efforts to compete against GM and export cars to the Usa that were small and had better gas mileage and so they were also better for the environment.
